In honor of the 25th anniversary of Fraggle Rock, The Jim Henson Company will be rolling out a new merch collection based on the global brand.
Titled Fraggle Rock Forever, the collection will be available in specialty and department stores, with a tiered rollout of select product this coming holiday season, with more on the way in spring 2010.
Product categories in the collection will include apparel, tote bags, belt buckles, jewelry and classic plush. Adult Halloween costumes will also target men and women in 2010, and US deals have already been inked with Bioworld Merchandising, Manhattan Toy, and Rasta Impasta. Across the pond, Fashion UK is also on board along with fashion chain Zara for Fraggle Rock tees around the world.
For the fashion influences, designers Dr. Romanelli in Los Angeles and Carri Munden of Cassette Playa in London are collaborating on a range of high-end clothing to be featured in upscale boutiques this coming holiday season. Dr. Romanelli will interpret the brand at micro-site www.drdoozer.com, to go live in November, which will host the collection of tees, hoodies, jackets and posters, as well as Fraggle Rock music remixes with clips from the series. Designer Anita Ko rounds out the fashion end of the Fraggle line with a boutique designer collection of high-end costume jewelry line, in collaboration with jeweler Pascal Mouawad.
Lionsgate is releasing Fraggle Rock: The Complete Series Collection, as well as a new DVD special A Merry Fraggle Holiday along with Fraggle Rock: The Complete Final Season (Season 4) in time for this year’s holiday season.
TJHC will also launch virtual merch, including video ring tones and mobile wallpaper.
