The iconic Japanese import Domo will be heading into 7-Eleven stores across the US, as licensor Big Tent Entertainment teams up with the convenience chain for a new promo this fall.

The Slurpee-loving, open-mouthed character will appear on a number of collectible Slurpee cups, Slurpee character straws, Big Bite hot dog containers, coffee cups and also get his own exclusive Domo Attack! energy drink.

Debuting weekly on www.slurpee.com and www.domonation.com on October 1 will be a new three-part webisode, which tells the story of Domo and his friends on a quest for a Slurpee. Japanese animation company dwarf inc., which originally created Domo and friends, created and produced the exclusive animations for 7-Eleven.

Four Slurpee straws featuring Domo will retail for US$1.99, while coffee and the hot dogs (both US$0.99) will have a limited offering through November 15. The chain will also be offering coffee in a special brown Domo cup for US$0.99 for younger coffee drinkers. The hot dog clam-shell carrier will resemble Domo’s face, with the food resting in his mouth.

7-Eleven will be promoting the coffee deal with Obey the Domo store signage, along with in-store product signage and storefront banners, and has also posted notices on Facebook and Twitter to drum up online buzz. A large Domo candy display will feature Snicker’s and Reese’s candy bars in the character’s open mouth and there’ll also be a shelf to display Domo DVDs (US$15.99). Other available merch will be collectibles like miniature action figures (US$9.99), Manga comic books (US$3.99), plush characters and apparel (caps and t-shirts). 7-Eleven also has special-edition gift cards featuring Domo.
