CBBC (London, England, 44-208-743-8000): The Beeb has tapped Damian Kavanagh to take on the role of CBBC controller being vacated by Anne Gilchrist, who's leaving the post to join BBC's In-House Comedy department. Kavanagh is starting in his new remit later this year with a one-year term, and will oversee all programs and multiplatform commissioning for CBBC and its BBC One and Two dedicated blocks. He moves over from the role of BBC Daytime head of planning and scheduling, where he served as executive producer on reality shows such as Escape to The Country. Prior to that, he worked as an indie commissioning executive and head of scheduling at BBC Children's.

Kavanagh is starting in his new remit later this year with a one-year term, and will oversee all programs and multiplatform commissioning for CBBC and its BBC One and Two dedicated blocks. He moves over from the role of BBC Daytime head of planning and scheduling, where he served as executive producer on reality shows such as Escape to The Country. Prior to that, he worked as an indie commissioning executive and head of scheduling at BBC Children’s.

E1 Television (Toronto, Canada, 416-646-2400): Swin Chang has joined the E1 team as director of development of kids and animation. The position has Chang overseeing the company’s current development slate in both the Canadian and US markets. Chang hails from Astral Media’s Family Channel and its sibling net Playhouse Disney Canada, where she worked on series such as Life with Derek, Overruled! and The Latest Buzz.

Hasbro Studios (Los Angeles, California, 310-859-4391): With new animated, live-action and game show programming in the works for the Hasbro-Discovery JV channel launching in fall 2010, Stephen J. Davis is taking the reins as president of newly formed L.A.-based Hasbro Studios. He delves into his new duties this month, and will lead a team of internal and external creative talent to create new programming based on Hasbro brands like Romper Room, Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble, Cranium, My Little Pony, G.I. Joe, Game of Life, Tonka and Transformers. Davis most recently served as CEO at Family Entertainment Group and has extensive experience in teen and young adult programming, including a venture with Southern Star Entertainment and the WWE. He’s also worked as president of mobile and online media at InfoSpace, president of Granada America, and VP of entertainment and media development at Merv Griffin’s The Griffin Group.

Nickelodeon (New York, New York, 212-258-8000): Stepping up from the role of VP of preschool production, Anne Mullen has been promoted to SVP of Nickelodeon on-air creative strategy. She’s now charged with managing the on-air creative execution for the kidnet’s programming sked, from preschool to Nick at Nite. Mullen will also oversee conceptualization, development and execution of all on-air promotion and brand communications in partnership with Nick’s programming, brand marketing and digital teams. Along with the Nick/MTVN Kids & Family senior creative team, she’ll be developing a strategy to unify the group TV channels (Noggin, The N, Nicktoons Network) as well as its websites (Nick.com, Neopets, AddictingGames, etc.) under the Nickelodeon brand.

Saban Capital Group (Century City, California, 310-557-5146): Having recently departed from Twentieth Century Fox, it looks like Elie Dekel will be working once again with Haim Saban. In his new role as MD, Dekel will be based in L.A., where he’ll capitalize on his many years of licensing experience and hone his skills to expand Saban’s L&M activities and IP opps in the US and internationally. Dekel headed up worldwide licensing, promotion and consumer products marketing for Fox, and also worked with the Creative Artists Agency (CAA). He served as president of Saban Consumer Products/Fox Family Worldwide in the 1990s, overseeing its global marketing and branding efforts.

Turner CN Enterprises (London, England, 44-207-693-1000): To manage the growth across EMEA, the company has brought on a handful of new hires. Maria Rosaria Milone is stepping up from her position as territory manager for Italy and into the newly created role of commercial director EMEA, brand licensing, consumer products & events. Joe Braman is also taking on the role of commercial director for mobile & non-linear distribution and will be assisted by account managers Jonathan Riesel and Francesca Balabio. On the DVD side, Marc Melton and Kelly Moore have joined the company as commercial and product managers. The new territory manager for France is Sandra Selva-Abril, while Kathrin Schenk assumes the equivalent role for Germany. They’ll manage the development of Turner CN Enterprises regional licensing programs, working with licensing agents Canal+ (France) and Concept-TV & Merchandising (Germany). Over at the company’s London HQ, Jenny Brown has joined as licensing executive, while Denyce Whitney comes aboard as a contracts administrator and Zoe Papadopoullou has been tapped as the new licensing account manager for the UK.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products UK (London, England, 44-207-984-6100): Leading the charge as the new GM for Warner Bros. Consumer Products UK is Paul Bufton. Coming from his position as director of Fisher-Price Consumer Products Europe, Bufton is well-equipped to step into his new role at WBCP, where he’ll oversee integrated licensing, retail and promo strategies for its portfolio of properties, working across the theatrical, home video, digital, television and interactive entertainment divisions. He’ll also be responsible for expanding relationships with licensees and retailers. Bufton’s resumé includes a stint as franchise director for Lego and a term as head of European marketing and licensing for Star Wars at Euro licensing agent CPLG.
