New York-based youth products manufacturer F.A.B/Starpoint is going green, as it teams up with upcycling company TerraCycle for a new line of eco-friendly accessories.
TerraCycle is providing F.A.B with non-recyclable packaging from companies like Frito Lay, Nabisco and Capri Sun, which is gathered through its nationwide collection program, Brigades. F.A.B. is using the packaging to make messenger bags, backpacks, stationery, home décor and more. The first product will be in US stores by the end of the year, but will see major distribution in spring 2010, just in time for Earth Day.
