Looking to revamp its Learn to Read product, Hooked on Phonics tapped New York-based FlickerLab to create 13 hours of animation for its new series of DVDs.

The nine DVDs combine character animation, motion graphics and some live-action footage, helping to entertain and educate kids ages three to eight with brain-building activities. There are three discs for pre-kindergarten, two for kindergarten, two for first grade and two for second grade.

Learn to Read will be sold at select US locations, including Target, beginning this month.
