Weta Workshop’s the WotWots is currently topping the ratings with kids age zero to four on ABC Australia and sittng in the top-10 on UK broadcaster Channel Five’s Milkshake block, the prodco and its partners are gearing up to roll out a corresponding merch program.
The series is moving to the prime preschool spot of 8:35 a.m. on Five’s Milkshake! on September 7, while ABC1 and ABC2 in Australia will begin screening new eps this week at 9 a.m. and 12 :40 p.m.
Master toy licensee Hasbro, meanwhile, is set to launch a toy, plush and play-sets range in Australia and New Zealand next month, following up with a UK effort in October.
The NZ rollout is kicking off with a WotWots Fun Day at the Auckland Zoo on August 29 and a similar event is scheduled to take place at the London Zoo on September 29.
Additionally, costumed WotWots characters will be undertaking an Australian retail tour throughout September.
