Scholastic Media is packing a suitcase full of new animated and live-action programming to take to Cannes in October.
On the live-action front, the New York-based division of Scholastic has two new book-based properties: The Wedding Planner’s Daughter and Goddesses. The first is based on a book series by Coleen Murthagh and follows 17-year-old Willa on her quest for love. Godesses, meanwhile, tells the comic story of three sisters in mythological times that end up in modern day Athens, Georgia instead of Athens, Greece thanks to an inept Zeus.
Scholastic is also introducing three new preschool series, Chicken Socks, Dragoonies and Fuzz and Sparkle.
Chicken Socks focuses on an imaginative clubhouse that facilitates adventures of creation and learning, while Dragoonies is a music-based series that follows six dragon friends as they start school together and Fuzz and Sparkle explores the natural world with the help of two disco-loving aliens.
The company will also use MIPCOM to introduce a new marketing initiative, The Be Big campaign, being built around stalwart IP Clifford the Big Red Dog.
