With new animated, live-action and game show programming in the works for the Hasbro-Discovery JV channel launching in fall 2010, Stephen J. Davis is taking the reigns as president of the newly formed L.A.-based Hasbro Studios.
He’ll delve into his new duties beginning this September, and will oversee a team of internal and external creative talent for new programming based on Hasbro brands such as Romper Room, Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble, Cranium, My Little Pony, G.I. Joe, Game of Life, Tonka and Transformers, to name a few.
Digital and mobile content is also being designed for the JV channel, which will air on channels in other international markets as well as domestically. Additionally, Hasbro Studios intends to produce programs for third-party content creators.
Davis’ most recently served as CEO at Family Entertainment Group, and also has extensive experience in teen and young adult programming, including a venture with Southern Star Entertainment and WWE and worked as president of mobile and online media at InfoSpace, president of Granada America, and VP of entertainment and media development for Merv Griffin’s The Griffin Group.
