Hello Kitty shines for a blingtastic anniversary

She's on backpacks, digi cams and electric guitars and now the ubiquitous feline from Sanrio is set to have a, er, glittering 35th anniversary. The platinum Super Hello Kitty Jewel Doll from Swarovski is encrusted with 2,345 gemstones and a one-carat diamond. The one-of-a-kind item's been traveling the world from Switzerland to Las Vegas. And come November, Simmons Jewelry will be using the US$150,000 figurine as inspiration to create a miniature version for auction - blinged out with Swarovski gems, of course.
