A number of new and returning series will be getting airtime on Canada’s Corus Kids’ YTV, Treehouse and Discovery Kids channels this fall.
Topping YTV’s programming highlights is The Penguins of Madagascar (DreamWorks Animation and Nickelodeon), premiering Saturday, September 12 at 9 a.m., along with That’s So Weird! (Halifax Film and YTV) on Wednesday, September 9 at 7:30 p.m., How To Be Indie (Heroic Film Company and YTV), on Friday, October 2 at 6:30 p.m. and Everybody Hates Chris, premiering Monday, September 14 at 8:30 p.m. and running Monday through Thursday.
Other new series include Sorry I’ve Got No Head, 8 Simple Rules, Clang Invasion and The Garfield Show. Meanwhile, viewers can expect the return of series like SpongeBob SquarePants, iCarly, True Jackson, VP, Kid vs. Kat, League of Super Evil, Back at the Barnyard, The Next Star, Family Biz, H2O: Just Add Water, Smallville, RollBots, Edgar & Ellen, Storm Hawks and Pretty Cure.
For preschool channel Treehouse, 3rd & Bird (Little Airplane Productions) leads the programming highlights, premiering Monday, September 7 at 6:25 p.m., also airing weekdays at 6:25 p.m., Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m. It’s followed by Timmy Time (Aardman Animations), debuting Monday, September 7 at 6 p.m., also running Wednesdays and Fridays at 6 p.m., Saturdays at 1 p.m. and Sundays at 12:15 p.m. Waybuloo (RDF Kids & Family, BBC and Decode), meanwhile, premiers Tuesday, September 8 at 10:30 a.m., also airing Thursdays at 10:30 a.m., Saturdays 7:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., Sundays at 8 a.m.
Other new series include Noddy in Toyland (Chorion), Caillou (Cookie Jar) and Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps (HIT), while new eps of returning series include Max & Ruby (Nelvana), Barney (HIT), Mister Maker (RDF), Ni Hao, Kai-lan (Nickelodeon) and The Wonder Pets! (Little Airplane).
Finally, on Discovery Kids, returning series include Bindi, The Jungle Girl, SciQ, Popular Mechanics for Kids, Surprise! It’s Edible! Incredible!, Aquateam, The Zula Patrol and Endurance. DK will also air back-to-back episodes of Prank Patrol (every Monday to Friday from 7 – 8 p.m.) and the weekend Scary Saturdays and Sundays block from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with back-to-back episodes of Mystery Hunters, Ghost Trackers and Truth or Scare.
