Thanks to the success of user-generated short film series quboPics this past winter, another round is being prepped for broadcast on the US kids net, qubo.
Beginning July 16, qubo will air 14 films selected from qubo.com, where budding young animators created their projects using zinc roe’s web app Zimmer Twins. qubo producers have remastered each film to air on the digi channel and blocks on ION Television, NBC and Telemundo.
Almost 25,000 kids logged onto qubo’s website to create nearly 50,000 quboPic films during the first round in December 2008. Today, more than 66,000 Zimmer Twins films have been uploaded, further increasing traffic to the site.
