Brit kids are tuning in Turner Broadcasting’s children’s channels, which have seen a 5% year-on-year ratings increase from January to June, bringing their overall share of viewers for commercial kids channels to 29%, led by Cartoon Network.

CN, the top commercial kids channel for boys four to nine in the UK, has seen a 7% growth in the demo thanks to Ben 10: Alien Force and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Boomerang, meanwhile, has been a hit with girls, seeing a 52% spike in the demo, credited to new CGI series Garfield, films (Garfield The Movie, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory), and series like Scooby-Doo and Tom & Jerry.

On the preschool front, Cartoonito brought in a 33% year-on-year increase in boy and girl viewers drawn in by UK-produced shows such as the new season of Fireman Sam, Hi-5 and Go and Be a Grown Up.
