The creators of Shelltown have come up with a novel way to fund production on the fledgling CGI series. The plan is to use money generated from entry fees paid by folks eager to voice a character in the series.

Creators Bernard and Patricia Sparkes have teamed up with Humraz (www.humraz.com) to get the competition going. The eventual contest winner will receive a 2% share of Shelltown‘s royalties along with the opportunity to voice a character.

The series was created by the husband and wife team from the stories wrote to entertain their 14 children as they were growing up. The current entry fee is now US$1.35 and from September 1, will increase to US$6.75.

The contest should also raise US$120,000 for charity, to be split equally between UNICEF, The National Autistic Society and the Marie Keating Foundation.
