GameStop has kicked off its brand new Family Night In program based on results from its Harris Interactive survey that found four in five American families plan to scale back on summer leisure activities, and one in three of those families expect to play video games together.

From now until September 1, the vidgame retailer will be helping families make the most of their summer entertainment budgets, offering special values and other incentives to customers who make purchases on Summer Tuesdays.

These include receiving a 20% bonus trade-in value for trading in older games that can be applied to any new or pre-owned family-friendly title. GameStop is also hosting a Family Night In Sweepstakes, where each week, 10 families will win a free dinner, and dessert from Baskin-Robbins and Twix. Also, all shoppers who purchase items on Summer Tuesdays will receive a US$3 off online coupon for any Baskin-Robbins cake purchase of US$15 or more.
