Ratings Watch: Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Disney Channel

With four million viewers, Nickelodeon’s Mr. Troop Mom set a new record as the kidnet’s highest-rated and most-watched original TV movie, along with scoring the spot for number one original TV program on Friday, June 19 at 8 p.m. The two-hour original TV movie was also tops for kids and tweens on broadcast and cable that day, averaging a 5.3/1.9 million (kids two to 11, up 66%); a 7.5/1.6 million (kids six to 11, up 108%) and a 5.8/1.2 million (tweens nine to 14, up 107%).

Also on the Nick front, iCarly was the number-one kid-targeted program with total viewers as well as basic cable’s top-ranked kids’ show for the week of July 15, with the repeat showing of ‘iTake on Dingo’ (June 17, 7:30 p.m. ET/PT) bringing in 4.2 million total viewers, averaging an 8.7/1.9 million (kids six to 11, up 123%) and 6.8/2.4 million (kids two to 11, up 106%). Tweens, meanwhile took a shining to the repeat ep ‘iDate a Bad Boy’ (June 17, 8 p.m. ET/PT), as it came in as the week’s top telecast, averaging a 6.5/1.4 million (tweens nine to 14, up 124%).

Meanwhile, Cartoon Network’s Saturday night premieres of roller coaster game show BrainRush (8 p.m.) and Destroy Build Destroy (8:30 p.m.) on its new CN Real block also saw some gains. The former earned saw a 20% delivery increase with kids six to 11 and a 55% increase with the nine to 14 set, and Destroy Build Destroy saw a 34% delivery increases with kids six to 11 and 38% for the nine-to-14s.

And Disney Channel saw its most-watched week in total day for the week of June 15, seeing 1.879 million total viewers, along with 727,000 kids six to 11. DC also had some notable numbers in prime as cable’s number-two network in total viewers (2.5 million).

Tweens nine to 14 flocked to the kidnet with back-to-back airings of The Suite Life on Deck on Thursday at 5 p.m. (1.4 million/5.7 rating and 1.3 million/5.5 rating, respectively).

Its Sunday showing of a new Jonas ep (8:30 – 9:00 p.m.) was TV’s top program in its time period with the six to 11s (1.3 million/5.4 rating) and tweens nine to 14 (1.1 million/4.5 rating), as well as cable’s top scripted show in the half hour with total viewers. Prior to that, a Sonny With a Chance repeat ep on Sunday (8:00 – 8:30 p.m.) was also TV’s number one program with kids six to 11 (1.2 million/4.7 rating) and tweens (965,000/4.0 rating), as well as cable’s top scripted show in the half hour with total viewers.

Preschool-wise, Saturday’s ‘Mickey Mouse Clubhouse’ (9:30 – 9:55 a.m.) was the week’s number one TV telecast in the two-to-five demo (1.0 million/6.3 rating), placing the series second overall for the week with a 696,000/4.3 rating), also seeing two other series in the top five, with Handy Manny at number four (638,000/3.9 rating) and Imagination Movers at number five (621,000/3.8 rating).
