Nickelodeon US has greenlit a 20-episode second season of its original animated comedy Sanjay and Craig.

The series follows the adventures of titular characters as they embark on kid-inspired quests. It was created by Jim Dirschberger, Jay Howell and Andreas Trolf.  Dirschberger, Howell and Thurop Van Norman are co-executive producers, and award-winning animation team Chris Viscardi and Will McRobb return as executive producers. The series will make its season one debut on the network’s international channels in the fall.

According to Nielsen, Sanjay and Craig is the number-one new animated series of the year with all kid demos. The season premiere drew 3.6 million total viewers, and to date, it is averaging 3 million total viewers and posting double-digit gains with kids two to 11 (+23%) and kids six to 11 (+29%).
