Dame Kelly Holmes, double Olympic gold medal winner, has been enlisted to help launch a healthy eating initiative in the UK next month.

The Popadeli website was created by Joanna Birchjones and Kelli Chambers to help children prepare simple recipes and find out more about their food.

Birchjones and Chambers created Popadeli with illustrator Emma Hildreth, and children’s comedy writer Dean Wilkinson, with the aim of showing children how to cook, and how to share their recipe and dance creations online with other children. They can also learn cooking techniques and discover exotic foodstuffs from around the world.

Third-year nutrition and dietetics students studying at Kings College London have also created easy-to-prepare recipes for the website.
