Disney Channel came in as US cable’s number-one network during the week of May 18 in totally day in tweens, as well as cable’s number top net in primetime with kids six to 11.
A new ep of Phineas and Ferb aired on Friday, May 22 ranked as the week’s top animated TV telecast in prime in kids six to 11, placing first among all animated programs for the week in kids and tweens. The ep saw a 16% increase in total viewers 8% in kids and 25% in tweens.
Also among the younger set, with kids two to five, Playhouse Disney’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Special Agent Oso came in the week’s top 10 programs on all television, at number eight and 10, respectively.
Meanwhile, Nickelodeon scored basic cable’s number-one telecast during the same week with all key demos. SpongeBob SquarePants led basic cable programming with kids two to 11 (6.1/2.2 million), drawing in 3.9 million total viewers. The Penguins of Madagascar followed as the week’s number-two telecast with the two to 11 set, bringing in 3.6 million viewers. And repeat eps of iCarly continue to draw in viewers, as it ranked as basic cable’s top show for the week with kids six to 11, and second with tweens.
