In its second co-pro with DreamWorks Animation, Nickelodeon has ordered 26 eps of Kung Fu Panda: The Series based on DWA’s 2008 feature film that grossed more than US$630 million at the box office worldwide.

The CG animated comedy series follows in the footsteps of the successful debut of The Penguins of Madagascar, another DreamWorks co-pro, which ranked as the most-watched series premiere in the kidnet’s history. It’ll follow the adventures of the title character Po, his mentor Shifu and the Furious Five, as they protect the Valley of Peace from all sorts of threats.

Kung Fu Panda: The Series will be executive produced by Cheryl Holliday (King of the Hill, Still Standing, Father of the Pride) and is being produced at the Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Burbank, California.
