Succeeding Pierluigi Gazzolo (recently appointed COO for MTVNI) is Sofia Ioannou, who’s taking on the role of MD at MTV Networks Latin America.
Remaining in the company’s Miami office, Ioannou had previously served as EVP of business and legal affairs & general counsel for MTVNI and MTVNLA and will report to MTVNI president Bob Bakish.
In her new role, Ioannou will lead the business and creative development across all of the company’s brands in Spanish-speaking Latin America, Viacom Networks Brazil and MTV Networks Digital Suite of services throughout the region. She’ll also oversee the company’s operations in Miami, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, and Sao Paulo, along with the sales and marketing office in Bogota that’s scheduled for a June opening.
