Nickelodeon US had done a some exec shuffling and has named Sarah Noonan (pictured) SVP of live action content and Jay Schmalholz as SVP of live event television.
In Noonan’s new role, she will oversee all development, casting and live-action production for Nickelodeon. While Schmalholz will oversee all productions for Nickelodeon’s award shows and key events, including Nickelodeon’s 27th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards.
A 16-year veteran of Nickelodeon, Noonan most recently served as SVP of casting, where she spearheaded casting and talent relations for all live-action and animated series, pilots, specials and on-air promotions for the Nickelodeon Group.
Schmalholz most recently served as Nickelodeon’s SVP/creative director of on-air promotions, where he had oversight of the creative group responsible for all on-air promotions, image work, pro-social initiatives, live packaging, show launches, digital content and tent-pole priorities. He was responsible for conceptualizing the on-air promotions creative for some of the networks’ biggest live events, including the 2013 Kids’ Choice Awards, hosted by Josh Duhamel; Worldwide Day of Play, which had a promotional campaign featuring First Lady Michelle Obama.
During his 14-year tenure with Nickelodeon, Schmalholz has served in many capacities including helping to launch Nickelodeon Games and Sports, a 24-hour digital sports network for kids.
