Backed by research that children’s video games can benefit young players, Sony Online Entertainment is introducing Let the Kids Game, a parental guide available as a free download at SOE.com and WhatTheyPlay.com.

Reaching out to parents who don’t understand the benefits of playing family-friendly games, and also pushing SOE’s upcoming title Free Realms, the booklet shares third-party research, survey results and expert advice on game benefits, as well as providing tips for parents looking to play or buy games.

Also, parents who visit What They Play can sign up to receive early access to Free Realms, which involves quests, mini-games, customizable avatars and social networking.
