It looks like Bert and Ernie are making the transition from Muppets on Sesame Street to real-life humans on stage.
As part of a special arrangement with Sesame Workshop and VEE, Bert & Ernie, Goodnight! is making its world premiere at the Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota in September, kicking off the company’s 2009-2010 season.
The humorous musical production stars Bradley Greenwald and Reed Sigmund as the famous Muppet duo and centers around Bert trying to get to sleep while having to put up with Ernie’s antics. It’s filled with classic songs from Sesame Street, including ‘I Don’t Want to Live on the Moon’, ‘Doin’ the Pigeon’ and ‘Dance Myself to Sleep’, along with a new song created exclusively for the show.
The all-ages show runs from September 12 to October 25, with previews begin September 8 on the UnitedHealth Group Stage.
