Struggle may have marked most of the world’s economic news in 2008, but don’t tell that to Cartoon Network Enterprises Asia Pacific operations.

The licensing and merchandising arm of Cartoon Network Asia enjoyed a banner year in the region marked by 23% increase in revenue thanks in part to the strength of the Ben 10 line.

In Australia – CNE’s best performing market – sales of Ben 10 toys grew 100% from 2007 to 2008.

Sales in the Philippines for the popular toy line also jumped 300%. Following the trend throughout AsiaPacific, Ben 10 has been at the forefront of the success, spurring a 400% increase in toy sales in Malaysia.

To follow-up the impressive growth numbers, CNE will be making major forays into China, Japan, Indian, South Korea and Taiwan in the upcoming months.
