DHX characters such as Caillou, Arthur and Johnny Test are heading to a number of new broadcasters and VOD providers across Central and Eastern Europe, as well as the Middle East, as DISCOP Istanbul gets underway this week.

Chellomedia Central Europe has renewed season one and has licensed season three of Martha Speaks for its channel Minimax broadcasting in Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic and Slovakia. While in Croatia, RTL Kockika has picked up animated trio Arthur, Johnny Test, Caillou.

Polish VOD channel Onet has also picked up Martha Speaks, Johnny Test and Sabrina’s Secret Life.

Meanwhile, Arab-broadcasting network MBC Group has picked up shows including The Zack Files for its MBC3 channel.

Yumurcak TV in Turkey, which will premiere Ella the Elephant this spring, has acquired the fifth season of Caillou.

And in further preschool deals, Arthur has been sold to public broadcaster Irib in Iran, with In the Night Garden acquired by Prime Media in Kazakhstan.

The deals follow a hefty round of broadcast sales inked by DHX in Central and Eastern Europe last June.
