It looks like In The Night Garden is going to be rooting itself in Brit theaters, thanks to a new partnership between BBC Worldwide and Picturehouse Cinemas and getting broader distribution in Canada through a DVD deal with Nelvana Enterprises.

The UK initiative, ‘Your child’s first cinema experience,’ will take place across the territory at Picturehouse’s circuit of independent theaters between March 20 and April 2. It’ll include three sets of fortnightly screenings at 18 select cinemas, rolling two screenings of an ep from the latest DVD Look At That!, which hits retail on March 23. Each child will receive a free gift with admission, and further screenings are in the works for November and early 2010.

A marketing and PR campaign will also be in place to help drive awareness of the initiative, with press activity to support the screenings in selected regions nationwide. Children’s tickets priced at US$4.23, with free adult admission, will be subject to availability and all details are available on www.inthenightgarden.co.uk.

And across the pond in the Great White North, Nelvana Enterprises will be ushering in the first Canadian ITNG DVD Welcome to the Garden on April 28, just days following the UK release.

The series is launching under the Treehouse Presents label and will be distributed by Universal Studios Home Entertainment Canada, with more DVD releases in the works for the fall and beyond.
