The futuristic football team from Alphanim series Galactik Football is moving online, thanks to a new MMOG deal with Virtual Fairground.

The worldwide licensing agreement will see the gameco translating the property from animation to a Flash-based virtual world and browser-based MMOG targeting kids and tweens.

The first phase of the game and virtual world will begin rolling out to North American and European users this coming April, with a full launch set for 2010 to coincide with the FIFA World Cup. Virtual Fairground will be responsible for full development and publishing duties.

The kid-safe online galaxy will let budding players create their own teams to compete for the Galactik Cup, and will also include a series of mini-games and socialization features.

The 2-D/3-D series airs in more than 100 countries.
