Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products and MTVNI have been busy making deals around the world, signing new consumer products licenses and broadcast deals, respectively, in Germany, Italy and Eastern Europe.

NVCP’s German division signed a two-year renewal with United Labels for SpongeBob SquarePants that will make branded products available at retail, online and discount outlets in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Product will include mugs, bowls, alarm and wall clocks, towels, cushions, boxer shorts, socks and wallets.

Over in Italy, MTVN Italia and CPLG entered into a multi-year agreement that will see the licensing agency repping Nick’s global franchises, including SpongeBob and Avatar: The Legend of Aang, iCarly and Ni-Hao Kai Lan in the territory. The deal will also see CPLG managing local partnerships including Bontempi, Clemontoni, Edizioni Play Press, Mondo, and Panini with NVCP, as well as managing major categories, including apparel, accessories, stationery, food, confectionery, bags & travel, beauty & hygiene and publishing.

On the broadcast front, MTVNI confirmed deals with two broadcasters in Eastern Europe to air a slew of programming across its MTV, Nickelodeon and VH1 brands. Rustavi 2 has picked up season one of Nickelodeon’s Back at the Barnyard and Ukraine’s Kino TV has acquired Nick’s library of series, TV movies and specials, including The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Angry Beavers, Catdog, Danny Phantom, Hey Arnold, My Life as a Teenage Robot, Oh Yeah Cartoons, Ren and Stimpy and Fairly OddParents. All series will start broadcasting in these markets this year.
