Portfolio inks raft of global deals

Toronto, Canada-based prodco Portfolio Entertainment has made a number of international sales for several of its kids series.

DeA Kids, the new channel from DeAgostini Editore, has snapped up animated tween comedy series Carl2 (65 x half hours) about a slacker teen who clones himself by accident, while RTBF has picked up the first two seasons (39 eps) of the series for French-speaking Belgium. Canal + Cyfrowy / Zig Zap in Poland and KTV in South Africa have renewed the fourth season of the comedy, signing on for an additional 13 eps.

National Geographic International has acquired the 26 x half hours of kids astronomy-based documentary program Heads Up!, set to bow in Turkey, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

Igloo-Gloo, the 26 x 15-minute series about two baby seals from the Arctic Circle, will make its Asian debut as preschool cabsat net JimJim has taken those rights to the preschool puppet series. And the 26 x half-hour animated Toad Patrol will make its way to Romanian and Ex-Yugoslavia airwaves in a new deal with Minimax.
