With the premiere of The Penguins of Madagascar set for a March 28 broadcast date on Nickelodeon, the kids net has already greenlit an additional 26 episodes of the series for a total of 52.

Based on the Penguin brothers from DreamWorks Animation’s Madagascar franchise, the new CGI comedy series will get its first airing on Nick following its 22nd Annual Kids’ Choice Awards, then move into a regular time slot at 10 a.m. on Saturdays, beginning April 4.

A co-production between DreamWorks and Nickelodeon, the series follows a group of penguins that believe they lead a covert-ops-type strike force from its HQ in New York City’s Central Park Zoo.
