Boy-focused Disney XD set for February launch

Disney XD, the House of Mouse’s basic cable initiative targeting boys six to 14, is launching at midnight on Friday February 13, premiering with the animated comedy series Phineas and Ferb and with the debut of action-adventure series Aaron Stone.

Adventure, accomplishment, gaming, music and sports (the latter with the help of ESPN) will be central themes to Disney XD content, and to coincide with the launch of the boys-focused net, DisneyXD.com will also go live. The online and mobile games site will house games, exclusive fan pages, community elements and a personalization feature where users can create their own 3-D avatar for use across the site.

Aaron Stone will also be available on the site, as well as through VOD and mobile platforms, with previews on Xbox 360 and iTunes. The series will be joined by Kid vs. Kat, Jimmy Two Shoes, Yin Yang Yo!, Zeke & Luther, Kid Knievel and shorts RoboDz and Bruno the Great. Come spring 2009, the net will also boast The Spectacular Spider-Man, :Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, Spider-Man and Iron Man.
