France’s Planet Nemo and Singapore’s Scrawl Studios have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to co-produce preschool animated series Silly Bitty Bunny.

The 78 x 3.5 minute 2-D series, which KidScreen singled out as a Cool New Show last fall, is based on book franchise Petit Lapin Blanc, published by Les Editions Hachette. Aimed as preschoolers ages three to five, the franchise has sold more than three million copies worldwide and zeroes-in on the novelty factor of a kid experiencing key moments for the first time.

The estimated budget is US$200,000 per half hour and Canada’s Carpediem Film & TV is already on-board as a co-pro partner for the production slated for a spring 2010 delivery.
