Cartoon Network made significant ratings gains on 2007 numbers this November across all kid demos, according to prelim data from Nielsen Media Research.
Primetime eyeball delivery shot up 14% among kids two to 11, 15% with the six to 11 set and 5% with the nine to 14 crowd. Cartoon also saw a rise in total day delivery compared to the same period last year, with a 6% increase with kids two to 11, 12% with kids six to 11 and 4% with tweens nine to 14.
The new Har Har Tharsdays block (7 p.m. to 10 p.m.) deserves a lot of credit for the prime-time pick up, where audience numbers grew by 46% among kids two to 11, 68% with kids six to 11 and a whopping 91% increase with tweens. CN original Chowder grew ratings for its slot by 73% for the first group, 104% for the second, and an impressive 143% with tweens. But the honor for the show with the largest overall growth goes to Fresh TV’s Total Drama Island, which made gains in its timeslot of 101%, 128% and 168% with each demo, respectively.
Meanwhile, Star Wars: The Clone Wars with a 9 p.m. slot on Friday nights, also posted large numbers over 2007. Kids delivery this year for each demo rose 63% (K two to 11), 80% (K six to 11) and 101% (K nine to 14). Ben 10: Alien Force, which follows Clone Wars on Friday nights at 9:30 p.m. continued to draw new viewers, with ratings up 36%, 46% and 48% with the respective demos.
