Sulake Corporation, best known for its teen site Habbo.com received the Nokia Foundation award in Finland this past Tuesday for its contribution to collaborative media and social networking.
The creators Aapo Kyrola and Sampo Karjalainen came away with the honor, worth roughly US$12,500, which supports scientific development of info and telecommunications technologies and promotes its education in Finland. More than 114 million avatars have been registered at Habbo, which attracts 10 million unique monthly visitors.
