Little Airplane Productions is growing its Small Potatoes reach with a trio of broadcast deals.
Australia’s ABC4Kids and free-to-air channel Once in Mexico are set to air the Meet the Small Potatoes movie, with French-language broadcaster TV5 in Canada picking up the Small Potatoes TV series.
Meet the Small Potatoes is a 45-minute rock mockumentary, written and directed by Little Airplane’s president Josh Selig. The film premiered last year on Disney Junior in the US, and was screened theatrically in L.A., Boston and New York.
Preschool series Small Potatoes (26 x three minutes) follows the adventures of a band of singing spuds, and helps kids learn about different styles of music. Once in Mexico has already acquired the TV series, with the film is set to air later this year. ABC4Kids will air the movie on October 4.
For fans of the spud brand, Little Airplane has announced an initiative with soft toy maker Animal Magic that lets users design their own plush Small Potatoes characters. Using an app set to be released next month, kids can have toys created to order and delivered directly to their homes from Animal Magic’s factory.
