German brand management and media company m4e AG has inked an option deal with Atlantyca IP Agency for the TV and licensing rights for the comedy-mystery book series Me, Mum & Mystery, written by Lucia Vaccarin.

Atlantyca IP Agency is the sales division for Atlantyca Dreamfarm’s children’s catalog of publishing brands. Under the deal, m4e will develop the books into a live-action series, featuring the relationship between Linda and her 11-year-old daughter, Emily, who together run an inherited detective agency in a small unknown village.

Translation rights to the book series—which counts eight titles to date with more in development—have been sold in Spanish, Catalan, Greek and Indonesian.

m4e’s catalog of kids content includes Mia and me, a series co-produced by m4e and Rainbow in Italy. To date, the series airs in more than 80 regions worldwide, and has a movie in the works set for release in 2016.
