Nickelodeon has named eight-year Viacom vet Tony Maxwell as SVP of promotional creative and strategy for the Nickelodeon Group.
In the new job, Maxwell is responsible for translating the network’s marketing goals into on-air strategies. He’s now overseeing the creative team responsible for developing on-air promo campaigns and executions for show launches, digital content, packaging, tent-pole initiatives and pro-social initiatives.
Maxwell moved over to the Nick Group from his post as SVP of promotional strategy and creative for Viacom’s music and pop culture nets VH1, VH1 Classic and Palladia. Pre-Viacom, he was an exec producer at Propaganda Films’ music video division, overseeing projects for artists like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beck, AC/DC, Common and Usher.
