In the midst of the 3G iPhone-mania hitting 22 countries worldwide today, San Francisco-based Publisher X has entered the digital downloadable interactive software space.

Designing especially for Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch, the software publisher announced its first partnerships with four international developers: ZEN Studios (Hungary), Capybara Games (Toronto, Canada), Phantom EFX (Iowa, US) and War Drum Studios (Florida, US).

Similar to the PS3’s PlayStation Network and WiiWare for the Nintendo Wii, Publisher X will also offer downloadable games for compatible consoles and portable devices, including the PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 and PC.

Its first games for the Apple platforms include Critter Crunch (Capybara) and ZEN Pinball: Rollercoaster (ZEN).
