It won’t be long until SpongeBob SquarePants joins the rank of Guitar God. Nickelodeon UK has awarded John Hornby Skewes & Co the license to produce SB-branded electric guitars, ukuleles and other real musical instruments.
JHS, a leader in the worldwide distribution of musical merch, already produces the SB ukulele, but will be expanding the line with a junior acoustic guitar featuring his Yellowness during this year.
The line will also include a full-size electric guitar outfit and two cool new SB ukes. The first two instruments, initially launched in November 2007 to JHS’s retail music store trade customers, will go into wider distribution next month via consumer-oriented music retailers throughout the UK and Eire, and online at the Nick Shop in July.
