Sesame Workshop and NYC & Company are teaming up to help raise awareness of New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg’s environmental sustainability campaign GreeNYC.

The partners are marking Earth Day today with an appearance by Oscar the Grouch and Carroll Spinney, the man behind Big Bird, on the seventh floor of Macy’s Herald Square at 4 p.m.

The line of four women’s t-shirts and two tote bags were designed by the two organizations. The merchandise features Sesame Street characters Oscar the Grouch, Elmo, and Cookie Monster with phrases such as ‘Green is the New Black,’ ‘Reduce. Reuse. Recycle,’ ‘Tree Hugger,’ and ‘A is for Apple.’ Every item in the line features the GreeNYC logo, created by NYC & Company.

The apparel line will be available exclusively at Macy’s throughout the month.
