UK-based CAKE Entertainment and Australian prodco Cheeky Little Media have lined up L&M agents in the UK, Ireland and Australia to rep their new CGI-animated series, Bottersnikes and Gumbles.

Lisle International, which represents The Zelfs, Masha & The Bear, Temple Run and Tetris, has been tapped for the UK and Ireland, while The Fusion Agency in Australia (Trolls, Dinotrux, Noddy, Kung Fu Panda) will be tasked with finding licensees in Oz across all core categories. The property will be introduced at both the London and Nuremberg Toy Fairs taking place at the end of this month

Produced by CAKE, Cheeky Little Media and Mighty Nice Productions in Sydney, Bottersnikes and Gumbles is being produced for Netflix, CBBC in the UK and Seven Network in Australia. The 52 x 11-minute comedy for six to nines follows the adventures of three gumble heroes, Tink, Bounce and Willi, who can squash and stretch into any imaginable shape without being hurt. They love nothing better than to gumble all day long, but they must carefully avoid getting tin-canned by their stinky, grumpy, lazy neighbors, the Bottersnikes.

The series has started airing on Australia’s Seven Network and heads next to CBBC in July. Netflix will premiere the series across all markets this year, except for Australia and the UK, which will join the Netflix roster in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

Bottersnikes and Gumbles is based on books by Australian author S.A. Wakefield and illustrated by New Zealand-born Australian illustrator Desmond Digby. The book series was published in the UK and Australia between 1967 and 1989 and became widely known for its humor, absurdity, playful language and sense of ridiculousness.
