Former KidsCo execs Paul Robinson and Raja Masilamani have pre-sold the first title to come out of their London-based consultancy, Creative Media Partners (CMP), to broadcasters in the Middle East, India and Nigeria.

Created by CMP’s creative director Masilamani, 26 x 11-minute CGI-animated series Sindbad & the 7 Galaxies has been snapped up by Middle Eastern free-to-air broadcaster MBC3, India’s Sun TV and Nigeria’s free-to-air Be.Television.

Targeting six- to 11-year-olds, the series follows the intergalactic adventures of an alien living on Earth who is disguised as a 14-year-old boy. In each episode, Sindbad and his friends embark on dangerous after-school missions in Sindbad’s spaceship to save seven distant worlds from disaster.

Pro-social messages, environmental themes and the value of friendship are explored in the series, which is produced by New Zealand’s Huhu Studios (with animation work done in Taiwan and Beijing).

Munich, Germany-based Your Family Entertainment is distributing Sindbad & the 7 Galaxies globally excluding Asia, where it is handled by Hong Kong-based Lightning International. The show is available for terrestrial and pay TV, as well as for digital and mobile audiences, globally.

CMP founder Robinson currently serves as the company’s managing director while maintaining his channel business responsibilities as EVP of Your Family Entertainment—a position he accepted in March 2014. He was previously the CEO at children’s TV channel KidsCo, where he worked alongside its creative director Masilamani, before leaving in 2011 when NBCUniversal took control.
