Entertainment Rights has tapped Character Options as the new UK/Eire master toy licensee for flagship property Postman Pat. The UK-based toyco will start rolling out new playsets, plush and collectibles based on Pat and his pals in early 2009 to coincide with the launch of the new series on CBeebies and BBC Two.
The series in the works joins the some 80 Postman Pat eps currently in ER’s catalogue and will see the iconic mailman in a new environment, interacting with new cast members and vehicles, and giving Character Options a good jumping-off point for innovating product design.
Currently Character employs 225 people worldwide and develops 70% of its products in-house and has distribution in more than 30 countries.
