Nickelodeon is continuing to experiment with TurboNick’s power to launch original content, this time trotting out new reality series Nick Cannon’s Star Camp exclusively on the broadband video site July 22. Cannon, music legend Quincy Jones and Quincy Jones III are serving as executive producers for the series that follows the trials and tribulations of eight kids, hand-picked by Cannon to form a new super group, as they learn how to become stars.

The five x 15-minute series will stream on TurboNick (www.turbonick.com) every Sunday, and the finale migrates to the broadcaster’s TEENick TV block on Sunday, August 26 at 6 p.m.

In addition to streaming the series, TurboNick will feature background info on the group’s members, interviews and a message board where kids can actively discuss their thoughts. Dubbed The Giggle Club, the music group is being tapped to produce a studio album and develop a live stage show.

Meanwhile, TurboNick just keeps building steam. Launched in 2005, the site has enjoyed triple-digit increases in traffic over the last year. In May 2007, it posted a 542% increase over 2006 numbers, racking up 106 million video streams.
