Disney Interactive Studios used the E3 Media & Business Summit to unveil a new online initiative and gaming slate.
With a heavy emphasis on community gaming affected the industry at large, it’s no surprise that Disney is launching DGamer, a new online social networking initiative that will be included in all Disney Interactive Studios’ Nintendo DS games starting in May 2008.
DGamer lets Disney game players chat, create personal avatars and trade game-themed items across the room or anywhere in the world with the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. The application will be included free in every Disney game for the Nintendo DS, rolling out with the 2008 release of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.
Other developments for Disney Interactive Studios include the release of High School Musical: Sing It! for the Wii and Playstation 2 and High School Musical: Makin The Cut for the Nintendo DS in the fall.
Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour for the Wii and Hannah Montana: Music Jam for the Nintendo DS are also being readied for an October release.
