As Licensing International gets ready to kick off tomorrow in New York, UK-based entertainment company Chorion has announced that Fisher-Price is taking up the role of master toy licensee for upcoming series The Mr. Men Show.
The agreement initially covers the UK, US and French-speaking territories and Fisher-Price will start by rolling out preschool plush, playsets, figures, musical toys and vehicles for a fall 2008 retail debut in the UK. Other territories should follow in 2009.
Launching in 2008, the 2-D animated TV series for kids ages four to seven is based on Roger Hargreaves’ bestselling Mr. Men and Little Miss book series, which has sold more than 100 million copies worldwide. The 52 x 11-minute series features short, comedic sketches and is slated to bow on Cartoon Network US and on UK broadcaster Five’s Milkshake! block in early 2008.
