Former Sesame Workshop EVP and GM Liz Kalodner hasn’t wasted any time in ramping up staff since taking the same post at CBS Consumer Products a few months ago. She’s turned to the ranks of executives at HIT, Nick and 4Kids to make six key appointments and start growing the scope of the division that manages the worldwide licensing, merchandising and video activities for CBS, Paramount Television and King World Productions properties. And the new hires are: Jorge Ferreiro as SVP of creative, Jason Korfine as VP of marketing, Bill Burke as VP of marketing, JJ Ahearn as director of licensing, Veronica Hart as director of licensing, and Ben Berlin as contract administrator.

Ferreiro has more than 22 years of experience in licensing and related creative initiatives and comes to CBS from HIT Entertainment, where he served as SVP of creative, overseeing the creative direction of Thomas & Friends, Bob the Builder, Barney and Friends brands. Prior to that he was VP of global creative for Sesame Workshop and also held posts at Fox Family Worldwide and Disney Consumer Products.

Meanwhile, Korfine is trading in turtles for Star Trek as he moves over from 4Kids Entertainment, where he was responsible for the development and execution of strategic marketing and franchise launch plans as VP of marketing.

Leaving his VP of brand management post at HIT Entertainment’s US division, Burke is also an alum of Sesame Workshop and spent five years there as assistant VP of marketing for global consumer products. Similarly, Hart held licensing positions at both HIT and the Workshop before joining CBS.

Ahearn has nearly a decade of experience in the biz, having most recently held the title of director of retail and new business development at Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products.
