New York-based Big Tent Entertainment has made its second high-profile pick-up in as many months. Aussie preschool phenomenon The Wiggles has tapped the agency to handle its North American licensing and marketing efforts. As part of the exclusive long-term deal, Big Tent is looking for a host of new partners to continue building momentum for the 16-year-old kids pop band/brand.
With more than five million albums and 22 million DVDs/videos sold worldwide, The Wiggles continue to pack arena-sized venues for some 150 live performances per year, and its TV series currently airs twice daily on Playhouse Disney in the US. The band also got the theme park treatment recently, partnering with Six Flags to open Wiggles World parks in New England, New Jersey and Chicago this past year.
