Disney Channel has named Antoine Villeneuve SVP and MD of Walt Disney Television India. Villeneuve steps into his new role June 1 and is charged with overseeing Disney Channel, Toon Disney/Jetix and recently acquired Hungama kids’ channel operations from his Mumbai base.
Villeneuve hopped over from his post as VP and MD at Jetix France, which is majority-owned by Disney. During his three-year tenure, he managed the channel’s on-air, online and consumer products activities. Previous to that, he spent more than 14 years with Canal + International Services, rising to the position of MD of Canal + Nordic in 1992.
