Disney Channel will conjure up a little black magic to produce a follow-up to its 1995 witch-inspired original movie Twitches. Based on a popular teen book series by H.B. Gilmour and Randi Reisfeld, Twitches was the top basic cable movie in 2005, attracting a total of seven million viewers, including three million kids in the six to 11 target range.

The original movie tells the tale of twin sisters who learn to handle their magical powers while trying to live a normal teenage life. Both sisters also must work together to uncover the mystery of their missing father.

The sequel, which is scheduled to debut this fall, picks up after the sisters save their mother and the magical kingdom of Coventry.
